The Bus Driver Tour began in the spring of 2011 comprised of three
songwriters- Ian Thomas, Paul Lee Kupfer, and Danny Freund. The three
met a few years before while on tour in Montana. They traveled well
together and gained mutual respect for each other as songwriters.
the number of tours grew, so did the act. While on the road, they
established themselves as each other's backing band, switching between
guitars, drums and bass. The result has been an authentic blend of
energy and momentum that is The Bus Driver Tour. Currently, the band
calls Livingston, MT and Knoxville, TN home as they have deep
admiration and musical roots in both States.
Danny Freund is proud to be from St. Louis, Missouri. Since 2006,
he has been based out of Montana and traveling beyond as a solo act,
and with the bands The 7 Smart Fellers and The Polebridge Electric
Company. Livingston, MT has become a second home for Danny over the
years and his songs reflect this nearly as much as the Midwest has
influenced him. His style is independent and sincere.
His albums include: Love March, The Polebridge Electric Album,
Speak, At The Same Time, The Polebridge Electric EP, Electric Wires
and Life on the Coast. Check up on Danny at DannyFreundMusic.com
After traveling for years as a street performer, Ian Thomas began performing 'indoors' in New York City, where he recorded his debut album "A Young Man's Blues" and his follow-up "Live at Rockwood Music Hall.” Since then, he has shared the stage with Taj Mahal, John Hammond, Cyril Neville, Corey Harris, Sam Bush, The Wood Brothers, The Avett Brothers, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Reverend Goat and Dr. John and has performed at festivals, including Bonnaroo, Pickathon and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion. After the release of a solo album, Paul continues to tour, playing venues and festivals, while getting to share the bill with some of his heroes. Check out Paul solo PaulLeeKupfer.com
